"Risk Based Dental Benefits: The Future"

This presentation intends to expand insurance company executives’ thoughts about innovation in dental benefit design.  The presenter and attendees will explore the relative value of the standard 100/80/50 “One Size Fits All” dental benefit plans vs. new types of plan designs intended to be personalized for individual members.  The presentation intends to answer the questions regarding what will be required of dental benefit designs as healthcare enters an era of accountability for the resources used.

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

  • Participants will learn about and understand the difference between Risk, Severity and Diagnosis of diseases.
  • Participants will learn about some of the current examples for risk stratified dental benefits currently in the US and International Markets.
  • Participants will learn about how to incorporate risk stratification into innovative value propositions for employer clients, including reporting out outcomes.

JOSEPH V. ERRANTE, DDS is a nationally recognized healthcare executive with a concentration in the Dental industry. His career has been focused in the dental benefits, dental practice management, and multi-specialty medical practice management industries.

His professional career has included being the Founder and CEO of a vertically integrated oral health delivery system, a senior executive at a publicly traded practice management company, an executive leader of a multi-state dental insurance business, a CEO of a private-equity owned multi-specialty healthcare company, the Sr. Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs at a College of Dental Medicine and his current position as the CEO of PreViser Corporation.

Errante graduated from the University of Arizona and from the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry.  He has served on several Foundation Boards involved in Access to Healthcare and Dental Education, as well as National Advisory Boards and Industry Task Forces.
