IL Medicaid Program to Cover Preventive Dental Care for Adults

Illinois Medicaid Program Will Soon Cover Preventive Dental Care For Adults.

The Springfield (IL) State Journal-Register (6/17, Olsen) reports Illinois’ Medicaid program will begin covering preventive dental care for adults as the result of “a bipartisan agreement on the fiscal 2019 state budget that was signed into law recently by Gov. Bruce Rauner.” With the change, “almost half a million low-income Illinoisans soon will be able to receive periodic exams and teeth cleanings.” Greg Johnson, executive director of the Illinois State Dental Society, said, “The idea is to get the care earlier, when it is cheaper.”
